Jack the Chef

Today Jack mentioned again that he would like to be a chef, so I thought it was time to start chef school. Jack made us supper tonight, doing everything it was safe for a 4 year old to do. We had macaroni and pasta sauce with buttered toast.

When it came time to set the table, Jack informs me, “That is what the black people do.” Pardon???? On further questioning, Jack explains that it is the people that wear black clothes, carry trays up on their hands and do tricks with the trays. They also work at the circus when not at the restaurant.

We had a very enjoyable time making supper. Jack dished out the meals into the bowls and both boys did very well at clearing the table. For dessert there was jelly beans.

During supper there are very nice conversation about “tormo toast” which apparently flies and scares people so they hide from it. Jack, who abhors anything even remotely spicy decided to try Frank’s red hot sauce on toast and likes it. Eric who usually doesn’t mind a drop of red hot had a drop in his macaroni and didn’t like it. Go figure.

Fun times at the Anderson ranch, or prehaps “Chez Anderson”.

  2. Chez Anderson sounds like a great place for fun, food and learning. I’d definitely promote this place as child friendly, adult friendly and connection friendly. love it.
